Christmas is upon us. To varying degrees I begin to take stock of the year past as the holidays help us welcome winter and the new year. Tonight I happen to turn the TV on to see “It’s a Wonderful Life” playing. Part of the charm and beauty of that film is in the simple empathy I (we) have for George.

I can relate to him, often trying to imagine myself through the eyes of family, friends and coworkers. 2010 is going to be a year taking stock of the contribution I make. I teach. I give. I love. What more should (or could) I do? How does one measure this contribution? I guess, friends, we’ll find out together.
